Missouri Tigers Rout Western Illinois

COLUMBIA - The Missouri Tigers football team routed Western Illinois 69-0 on Saturday evening at Faurot Field.

The Tigers (2-1) set a school record for most yards in a single game with 744 and tied a school record for post points scored.

Defensively, the Tigers held the Leathernecks (1-2) to just 44 total yards and one first down.

Sophomore quarterback James Franklin completed 18 of his 25 pass attempts for 246 yards and three touchdowns.

The Tigers spread the ball, hitting twelve different receivers in the game.

Sophomore running back Henry Josey rushed for 263 yards on 14 carries and scored three touchdowns of his own. Head coach Gary Pinkel chose to rest Josey in the second half.

The Tigers will battle the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners on the road next Saturday on September 24th.
