Missouri University Team To Compete in Solar Decathelon
WASHINGTON, D.C. - A collegiate team from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla has been selected as one of 20 teams in the world to participate in a Solar Decathelon in 2013.
The announcement was made on Jan. 26 by U.S. Department of Energy Secreteary Steven Chu.
The teams will be designing and constructing solar-powered, low-cost, and high-efficiency homes, then reassembling them at the Decathelon in Irvine, California.
"The Solar Decathelon will unleash the ingenuity, creativity and drive from these talented students to demonstrate new ideas for how families and businesses can reduce energy use and save money with clean energy products and efficient building design," Chu said.
