Missouri Uses Shooting Spurt to Top Baylor
COLUMBIA -- The Missouri Tigers could not miss from three-point range, so they just kept shooting.
Mizzou went 14 of 28 from beyond the arc in a huge 72-57 win over the Baylor Bears. During a seven-minute stretch in the second half, Missouri (23-2, 10-2 Big 12) hit seven of eight three-pointers and Steve Moore threw in a thunderous dunk to extend the Tigers' lead from one to 14.
Phil Pressey led the Tigers with 19 points, 12 of which came on three-pointers. Marcus Denmon also hit four treys and finished with 16 points and a game-high six assists. Kim English scored 16 for Missouri as well. Quincy Miller led all scorers with 20 points for Baylor (21-4, 8-4 Big 12).
The win puts the Tigers half a game ahead of Kansas for first place in the Big 12. Missouri's next game is at home Wednesday night against Oklahoma State.
