Missouri Valley Wins 18th Conference Title

MARSHALL, MO - Missouri Valley won its 18th conference title Saturday, November 12. Tyler Davis, a senior defensive back, has six interceptions through ten games and is tied for ninth in the nation.

"I let my play do the talking," said Davis.

However, Davis comes from a family of football. His father, Clarence Davis, is a former running back for the Oakland Raiders. Missouri Valley head coach Paul Troth talks about Tyler Davis and watching his father on television.

"I remember those teams you know when I was younger. I remember watching his dad play and some of those great playersm," said Troth.

However, Clarence Davis lives in Ohio and had a stroke shortly after Tyler was born and only saw Tyler play once before this season. This year, Davis was able to travel to Missouri to see his son play and win a conference title.

The Vikings take on Saint Francis Saturday, Nov. 19 in round one of the NAIA playoffs.
