Mizzou basketball falls to Arizona 72-53

LAHAINA, Hawaii - The Tigers stuck with the third ranked team in the country but couldn't match Arizona in the second half, losing to the Wildcats 72-53.

Mizzou hung around in the first half and were tied with the Wildcats at one point during the first half 21-21.

However, Arizona went on a five-point run to close the second half and put the Tigers down 32-25 at halftime. 

Arizona heated up from the floor in the second half and pulled away from the pesky Tigers after shooting 11-23 after the break.

Montaque "Teki" Gill-Caesar led the Tigers with 13 points and four rebounds. Keanau Post also brought down eight rebounds and added six points.

The Tigers now fall to 2-2 on the season and will play Purdue Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.

The Boilermakers lost to Kansas State 88-79 earlier Monday.
