Mizzou's Houck earns Pre-Season All-America honors
COLUMBIA - Mizzou junior RHP Tanner Houck has been named to his fourth preseason All-America team, joining two other SEC pitchers to recieve the honor.
Houck is coming off of an excellent 2016 season during which he posted a 2.99 ERA in 105.1 innings pitched, striking out a career-high 106 hitters. He went 5-6 in 15 stars during the season, limiting hitters to a .209 average against him. He was twice honored as SEC Pitcher of the Week and was also recognized once as the National Player of the Week.
Houck owns a 13-11 career record and a 3.23 career ERA. Houck is expected to be the Tigers ace for first year head coach Steve Bieser and become one of the first 10 players selected in next year's Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.
