COLUMBIA -- Missouri Golfer Jace Long is one step closer to his PGA Tour card. Long fired a 3-under-par 69 and leads the First Qualifying Stage of the PGA Tour's Q-School heading into Friday's finale.

Long (-8) is one of 80 players competing at The Lakes at Castle Hills golf course in Lewisville, Texas, and leads Derek Tolan (-7) by one shot.

Long had five birdies and one double-bogey in today's round to earn the one-shot lead.

The Top 18 finishers (plus ties) will advance to Second Stage Qualifying. The cut line for that Top 18 is currently at 1-under-par.

Stage 2 (November 13-16 or November 14-17): The Second Qualifying Stage will be played at six courses all over the United States and approximately the Top 18 finishers (plus ties) at each event will qualify for participation in the Finals.

Finals (November 13-16 or November 14-17): The Finals will feature roughly 144 of the world's top golfers. The Top 25 finishers earn their PGA Tour Cards and the next 25 earn "full exempt" status on the Web.com Tour. All players who reach the finals stages will receive some exempt opportunities with the Web.com Tour.
