Mizzou Softball Hosts No. 20 Texas A&M
COLUMBIA -- The No. 12 Missouri Tigers host the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies this weekend at University Field, returning to their home turf for the first time since mid-March. The Tigers currently hold the nation's longest home winning streak at 28 games and have posted a 30-5 record to date, including a 5-1 record in the Big 12. Play begins on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT, with the final game starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The Aggies (30-9, 3-2 Big 12) are coming off a close loss to the Texas Longhorns, as they led 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, only to lose 4-3. The Aggies hold the all-time series lead against Missouri with a 33-22 record, but split last season's series with the Tigers despite losing the first game 14-1. Missouri head coach Ehren Earleywine is 4-4 all-time against Texas A&M.
The Tigers, currently second in the Big 12 conference, swept Evansville in a doubleheader on Wednesday, winning by scores of 7-2 and 9-1. Mizzou homered four times over the course of the series, highlighted by Nicole Hudson's two-home run game in the first contest. Ashley Fleming hit her team-best ninth home run in the second game.
