Mizzou softball sweeps Ole Miss
COLUMBIA - After winning the opening SEC series for the first time since joining the conference, Mizzou earned the sweep after defeating Ole Miss 3-1 on Sunday.
The Rebels got the scoring started with a home run in the top of the first, but that would be all they could muster.
The Tigers wouldn't get on the board until the fourth when Cayla Kessinger tripled to tie it up. Kimberly Wert then singled two batters later to give them a 2-1 lead.
Mizzou would only get one run the next inning after loading the bases with no outs, but that would be all they would need.
Ole Miss brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth, but Eli Daniel struck her out to give the Tigers the 3-1 win.
Mizzou is now 19-6 having won nine out of their last 11 games.
The Tigers will play a game on Wednesday versus Illinois before heading to play a three-game series against Auburn.
