Mizzou softball tops South Carolina on the road

COLUMBIA, South Carolina - The Missouri Tigers softball team kept up its hot streak on Sunday. The team defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 9-3.

Tori Finucane started for the Tigers tossing five innings, struck out four and allowed only one earned run on the day.

Missouri utilized the long ball in the victory over the Gamecocks.

Amanda Sanchez kicked off the scoring with a grand slam to left in the top of the first. It was her second career home run.

Shortstop Sami Fagan followed with a solo shot in the third inning to make the score 5-0. Fagan now has five round-trippers on the season.

The Tigers would cruise from there to defeat South Carolina and move to 12-3 overall and 2-0 in SEC play.

Missouri will vie for the sweep over the Gamecocks on Monday.
