Mizzou swimming and diving coach placed on leave for "team management issues"
COLUMBIA - Mizzou's swimming and diving coach has been put on administrative leave, according to a statement released Monday by Mizzou Athletics.
It said Greg Rhodenbaugh is facing allegations related to "team management issues."
Athletic Director Jim Sterk said the allegations are "serious," and warrant a "full investigation."
"Our goal is to provide the best possible environment for all Mizzou student-athletes to achieve academic and athletic success. We expect and demand that our coaches manage their programs with the utmost integrity," Sterk said.
Associate Coach Andrew Grevers will be the team's interim leader. He is the main sprint coach and has "played a key role in Mizzou's rise to national prominence," the release said.
"He has earned the team's trust and respect, which are always important factors when making an important decision such as this," Sterk said.
