Mizzou to help Veterans Receive Education
COLUMBIA - The University of Missouri-Columbia has started an endowment aimed at providing more help to veterans attending the university.
The Mizzou Military Veterans Endowment was announced during the grand opening Thursday of the university's Veterans Center.
The Columbia Missourian reports that the endowment is in the early stages of fundraising and planning. Boone County National Bank is the first and only donor so far. It made a contribution of $5,000.
Organizers say the endowment will provide further funding to programs that help veterans through the new Veterans Center.
