Mizzou tops Maryland Eastern Shore 73-55

COLUMBIA— Terrence Phillips came out strong in the win Sunday against Maryland-Eastern Shore in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. The freshman guard had 13 points, including shooting 3 for 4 from the three-point line. He also grabbed 3 boards and added 2 assists and a steal to help lead Missouri to a 73-55 victory over MD-E-Shore.

Missouri's junior guard Wes Clark added 15 points himself to aid in the win, shooting 3 for 6 from the three-point arc. The team overall shot 42% from the three point line going 8-19.

At the half the game was tight with Missouri leading only 34-32. However, in the second half the Tigers were able to establish some dominance winning the second half 39-23.

Maryland-Eastern Shore’s Devin Martin has a very solid all-around showing, scoring 13, grabbing 6 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Missouri held Maryland-Eastern Shore to 38% from the field, while shooting 44% themselves. In addition Missouri’s bench outscored Maryland-Eastern Shore’s bench 21-15.

Next up, Missouri will be at Xavier on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m ET.
