Mizzou women defeat Arkansas in regular season finale
COLUMBIA - It may have been senior night for Missouri women's basketball players Morgan Eye and Bree Fowler, but it was the sophomores that stole the show for the Tigers as they defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 57-41.
After coming off a big upset in College Station, Texas over the No. 12 Texas A&M Aggies, sophomore's Sierra Michaelis and Jordan Frericks lead the team in points in the final regular season game with 15 and 10, respectively.
The Tigers never looked back after tip-off as they never let the Razorbacks lead all game. At half the Tigers led 24-11. In the second half the Tigers led by as many as 24 points after going on a 18-7 run lasting nearly sixminutes.
Mizzou avenged its loss to Arkansas earlier this season and took advantage of the Razorback's poor shooting in the first half (3-22, 13.6%). In addition, the Tigers scored 10 points off of 12 Razorback turnovers.
The Tigers finish the regular season 17-12 and 7-9 in SEC play. They now head to Little Rock, Arkansas for the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament beginning Wednesday.
