MO Valley to Compete in 2011 NAIA Football Championship Series

KANSAS CITY - The 2011 NAIA Football Championship Series will begin on Saturday, November 19. Sixteen teams look to fill eight spots and advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday, November 26. The quarterfinal pairings will be announced on Sunday, November 20.

Missouri Valley and Saint Francis will meet in Marshall, Missouri for a 12 P.M. CT kick-off. Both teams are no strangers to the FCS. This is Missouri Valley's ninth FCS trip and Saint Francis's 12th FCS trip. Missouri Valley (9-1), the champions of the Heart of America Athletic Conference, are currently ranked second in total defense (204.7 yapg) and third in both passing (130.7 yapg) and rushing defense (74.0 yapg). Saint Francis (8-2) has won eight-straight First Round games, which is the third most among this year's FCS qualifiers.

The 56th Annual Russell-Athletic-NAIA Football National Championship is scheduled for December 17. The game will be played at Barron Stadium at Rome-Floyd County and Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. It will also be televised live on CBS Sports Television with kick-off scheduled for 3:30 P.M. CT.
