Mo. Woman Accused in Deadly Wrong-Way Crash
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis woman is jailed on $100,000 bond after being accused of drunkenly driving the wrong way on a freeway when she crashed into an oncoming car more than three months ago, killing an Illinois man.
Prosecutors in St. Louis charged 26-year-old Caitlin Dixson on Friday with first-degree involuntary vehicular manslaughter.
Authorities allege Dixson's blood-alcohol content was more than twice Missouri's legal threshold for intoxication when she crashed Aug. 9 on eastbound Interstate 64 in St. Louis.
Investigators say the accident killed the other driver, 26-year-old Ryan Roach of Collinsville, Ill. He died at the scene.
Online court records don't show whether Dixson has an attorney. She does not have a listed home telephone number.
