Moberly Head Start Kids Get Shoes
MOBERLY - Moberly Head Start kids received shoes on Friday. An organization called Shoes from the Heart provided the shoes. The group gives shoes to kids ranging in age from preschool to high school .
Shoes from the Heart provided 526 pairs of shoes to kids in need from August to December of 2012 and is continuing to grow.
"We keep at least 150 to 175 pairs of shoes at our house in case there's a child at school or Head Start or somebody calls and says that a kid is in need right away of a pair of shoes. That way we can go and look in our stock and see if we have that size pair of shoes," Shoes from the Heart Founder Cindy Bonuchi said.
Shoes from the Heart is projected to provide 1500 to 2000 pairs of shoes this year.
Shoes from the Heart provides shoes to kids and families in Macon, Randolph, Shelby, and Adair counties.
Representative Tim Remole and a representative for Senator Roy Blunt attended Friday's event.
