Moberly Woman Dies After Struck by a Train
MOBERLY - Jessica Juanita Price, 31, died Thursday night after being struck by a train in downtown Moberly. According to a Moberly police press release, around 11:15 p.m. Thursday police were dispacted to Coates Street railroad crossing for a pedestrian struck by a train.
Officers discovered a the female pinned underneath the train and the rails, but still alive. She was given medical attention by Moberly police officers until the Moberly Fire Department and Randolph County Ambulance District arrived. She was transported to MRMC where she was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m.
Police said the pedestrian was walking east on Coates Street as the Norkfold Southern train was traveling eastbound. Police said all crossing signals and gates were working correctly and the train was sounding it's horn at the time of the accident.
