MORGAN COUNTY - The Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals Tuesday rejected a Morgan County man's appeal of his rape convictions.

Timothy Register, 51, was found guilty in July, 2013 for first-degree sodomy, first-degree statutory rape, and two counts of first-degree child molestation with a 13-year-old girl in 2005. He was sentenced as a prior and presistent felony offender to consecutive terms of 25 years each on the sodomy and statutory rape counts, 15 years for molestation and 25 years on a second molestation count.

Register was to be sentenced in Oct. 2013 but police said he removed his court-ordered GPS bracelet and fled. He was arrested on Jan. 21, 2014 in Oregon.

The court said Register only challenged the public reading of the victim's statement, not the statement itself. The court ruled the reading of the statement was not prejudicial.
