MU Athletics to review allegations of rules violations by former tutor
COLUMBIA — The University of Missouri Athletic Department said Tuesday that it will review allegations that a former tutor in the Athletics Academic Services area violated academic rules.
The department says it has informed the NCAA, who will assist in the review, according to a news release.
The department also says in order to "protect the integrity of the review process" it currently cannot make any further comment.
"While we recognize that there will be many questions regarding this situation, these investigations take time to ensure that we do it the right way," Athletics Director Jim Sterk said in the news release. "As always, our mission is to uphold the highest standard of academic performance and ensure the proper conduct with all of our programs."
