MU Children's Hospital Radiothon
COLUMBIA - Thursday was day one of the two day "Miracle for Kid's" Radiothon at the MU Children's Hospital. Hospital staff, radio dj's and local volunteers teamed together to help put on the fifth annual radiothon.
The fundraiser is aimed at supporting pediatric patients living in the area. Renee Leubbering sat down with KOMU to tell how the Children's Hospital has helped her daughter.
"Our daughter would not be here without Children's Miracle Network and the radiothon. We want to do anything we can to try and help raise the money, because she is our miracle and if this is our way of giving, that's what we want to do," she said.
This is the first year the radiothon has been extended to two days and organizers hope to beat the previous year's total of $100,000. Four Columbia radio stations are broadcasting live Friday as the radiothon continues from 6 AM-6 PM.
