COLUMBIA - University of Missouri finance students are offering up their tax knowledge for free.

MU's Trulaske School of Business finance majors who have been IRS trained and certified through the Free Assisted Self Tax (FAST) program are providing free filing consultations this Wednesday and next Wednesday, April 18. The consultations will take place in Stanley Hall on the MU campus.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax filing services for individuals or households who make less than $50,000 a year. Leaders of VITA ask that participants bring a photo ID and a copy of their social security card because identity fraud is common this year.

Locations in Columbia hosting VITA sites are Central Missouri Community Action on North Providence and Cornell Hall and Stanley Hall on the MU campus.
