MU Gets $2M Grant for Sustainability Research
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- The University of Missouri is getting a $2 million donation from the foundation for a St. Louis rental car company.
Missouri Chancellor Brady Deaton says the gift from Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the philanthropic arm of St. Louis-based Enterprise car-rental company, will fund research related to biofuels, biomass and energy efficiency.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/ZmRz3G ) that St. Louis-based Enterprise Holdings owns Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.
The company has more than 74,000 employees, and more than 600 of those employees, including several senior executives, are Missouri alumni.
