Mizzou's Thomas Gardner played through his mild concussion for 22 points, but that wasn't enough in the 74-71 loss Saturday for Mizzou. Jimmy McKinney also had 22. Marshall Brown had 10 points, and the Tigers shot shooting 50 percent from the field. Mizzou led by five with less than six minutes to go in the game. The Tigers pressed late in the game, but a traveling call with less than 9 seconds on the clock ended any hopes of a come from behind victory. A season record crowd of 10,684 hoped for a better finish after Mizzou's upset win over Oklahoma on Tuesday. Mizzou had won its first two conference games, while Colorado had lost its first two Big 12 games. Colorado's Richard Roby scored 21 of his 33 total points in the second half and was 6-for-11 from 3-point range to top his previous career best of 30 points. Colorado now leads the conference in 3-point shows with an average of eight per game. Chris Copeland was 3-for-6 and Dominique Coleman and Andy Osborn each had a pair of 3-pointers. The win ended an eight-game losing streak at Mizzou for the Buffs.
