MU Wrestler Reaches NCAA Finals

It's the second trip to the finals for Askren (44-0). He faces off against Northwestern's Jake Herbert on Saturday for the national championship. Askren, a three-time All-American, finished second nationally last year after losing in the finals.

Sophomore Tyler McCormick lost in sixth round of the 133-pound consolation bracket to Wisconsin's Tom Clum. McCormick finished the season 31-9.

Redshirt freshman Michael Chandler finished his season at 23-16, after losing to Brandon Becker of  Indiana in the fifth round of the 157-pound consolation bracket.

Another redshirt freshman, Raymond Jordan, fell to Kent State's Alex Carmago in the fourth round of the 184-pound consolation bracket to end Jordan's season at 33-12.

Wrestling in the 165-pound consolation bracket, junior Matt Pell lost in the fifth round to Iowa State's Travis Paulson. Pell finished 37-6.

Unseeded senior Jeff Foust lost in the fourth round of the 197-pound bracket to Purdue's Nathan Moore. Foust, one of MU's captains, finished his season 17-9.
