Murder trial set in killing of Missouri couple
FARMINGTON (AP) - A trial will begin July 6 for one of four men accused of killing an eastern Missouri couple.
The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Missouri reports that Maxwell Navarro is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, plus first-degree burglary and stealing a firearm.
Trial dates for the other three men have not been set. The other suspects include 19-year-old Dallas Tyler Halter, the son of the victims. He is charged with first-degree murder. Authorities say Dallas Halter shot his parents and set fire to the family home as part of a robbery.
William Carrico and Adam Wayne Moore face the same charges as Navarro.
Stanley and Tamara Halter died in April. The bodies were found after firefighters were sent to the couple's home near Park Hills.
