MARSHALL, MO -- The Missouri Valley College men's wrestling team spent their Halloween night going doorto-door in the Marshall community collecting canned foods for their fourth annual Kans 4 Kids food drive. The wrestling team had a goal of collecting 2,000 cans and exceeded their goal by bringing in 2,270 cans through the effort, shattering their previous record of 1,646 cans collected in 2011.

The team collected over 1,800 cans on Halloween night, finishing their work at Northwest Elementary School. The remaining donations came from various offices at Missouri Valley College to help the team exceed their goal. The food will now be distributed to needy families in the Marshall community.

"I would like to thank all that supported the men's wrestling program and the Kans 4 Kids food drive last night," said Head Coach Mike Machholz. "We set an all-time record for items collected on a Halloween night, and with the help of various groups on campus were able to smash our goal of
2,000 cans."
