Neighbors Disgusted About Duplex
Greg Harmon is a local Realtor who bought the land next to Harris.
"The person that I hired to build the building built it too close to the property line," Harmon admitted, although he said it's not his fault.
"I want to be able to rent my building, to fix my building, at least fix it," he added.
The city fined Harmon, and now he can't rent that side of his duplex. The city also rejected Harmon's request for a construction variance in 2002, almost a year after he built the duplex. The neighborhood also opposed his reapplication, and the city again denied his request.
Harris and his neighbors said Harmon is an experienced Realtor who should know when he is damaging another person's property. They also said the duplex should never have been built, and they will continue to oppose him if he reapplies for a building variance.
