SPANISH LAKE (AP) — Residents in an area of north St. Louis County say coyotes are attacking their pets.

Several people in the Spanish Lake area told KTVI-TV that pets have been attacked recently, including some inside fenced yards. Denise Knue says her 7-year-old dog, Dana, is lucky to be alive after a coyote attack on Tuesday.

Residents say they have seen coyotes lurking around Birmingham Court subdivision. They say at least five dogs have been attacked, with two of them killed.
