Neighbors in Shock After Fatal Missouri Fire
CHAFFEE, Mo. (AP) - Residents in the small southeast Missouri town of Chaffee are in shock after a house fire killed a young man and his two nephews.
The fire broke out Wednesday morning, killing 21-year-old Andrew Biler, 2-year-old Bryton Nicholson and 3-year-old Jaden Nicholson. Scott County Coroner Scott Amick told the Southeast Missourian that all three died of smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Biler's mother survived the fire but is hospitalized with serious injuries.
Fire officials say the home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and they were unable to get inside to save anyone.
