Neosho Firefighter was Crushed in Conveyor, Sheriff Says
Thirty-two-year-old Tim Hardy was an 11-year veteran of the Neosho Fire Department. He and his wife had six children aged two to 17. The exact cause of the blaze has not been determined, but state fire marshal Bill Zieres says workers had been cutting metal doors just prior to the fire yesterday afternoon. Sheriff Ken Copeland said Hardy was riding the conveyor when the accident happened. A fire official said firefighters were attempting to get above the fire in the adjacent structure and direct water down on it. Funeral services are set for Thursday morning at Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho.
