Senior forward Bryant Chambly says, "When he just came in for a little walk through, we were kind of amazed at how quickly he picked up on a lot of the stuff we were doing."

McCrary joined the Columbia Cougar basketball team this semester after transfering from Allen County Community College in Kansas. So far McCrary has wowed his coaches and teammates. He scored 25 points in his first home game with the team and is averaging about 15 overall.

"He's incredibly quick, he's one of our better three point shooters," said Columbia College Head Coach Bob Burchard. "To be able to bring him in and change the game, it changes the entire team on the floor."

The Columbia College atmosphere drew him in. McCrary says from the very moment he walked into the Southwell Complex at Columbia College and met his future teammates for the first time, he knew it was the right place to be.

"You can talk to me and tell me what I do wrong, what I do right, and I'm gonna listen and when I came here, that's what they did, and I loved them for it, and I just fit right in with them," said McCrary. "I never expected nobody to be behind me, I always was there for myself and my sisters and brothers. I'm just a strong person."

That strength and a love for the game fuels his desire to win.

"I'm all about winning, I'm not a loser, I don't wanna be a loser, I love to win, so whatever it takes, I'm just gonna play well," said McCrary.

And his teammates and coaches agree he'll help bring wins to the Cougars. Columbia hosts rival McKendree at the Southwell Complex on Thursday.
