COLUMBIA - The MU Extension department's new site had more than 400 users on Monday, just one week after its launch.  Missouri residents can find the Missouri Flood Information page on Facebook.  The page coordinators hope to expedite information in a more efficient and user-friendly manner by utilizing the social networking site.

Both individuals and organizations subscribe to the page, which is designed to be an aggregate tool for flood information.  Subscribers contribute their information on current conditions and absorb others' observations.

Various organizations for disaster relief, such as those in Joplin, successfully executed the idea, and web team editor Eileen Yager hopes the same will be true for the Missouri Flood Information page.
