New Fulton walk-in health clinic opens
FULTON - The opening of a new walk-in health clinic in Fulton Tuesday now provides those in that part of rural mid-Missouri with a medical option closer to home.
Managed by the SSM Medical Health Group, the clinic aims to serve both chronic care and walk-in patients.
Housing five exam rooms and EKG equipment, the clinic staff anticipates 20 to 30 patients a day. It does not have an X-ray machine.
The opening of the clinic comes at a very needed time for those in rural mid-Missouri, clinic service manager Katie Riechmann said.
"There's an ongoing need for health care in rural Missouri," Riechmann said.
"Thats what we are doing with these family medicine practices, is trying to grow you know the service thats provided in rural areas."
While the clinic is located in Fulton, its doors are open to anyone seeking care, Dr. Kimetha Fairchild, the clinic's chief practitioner said.
"This new clinic will except all kinds of new patients," Fairchild said.
"People are welcome from all around."
Open five days a week, staff is available to assist patients with their insurance.
