New Vehicle Brings Health Care Training to Rural Areas
Jefferson City- A new mobile vehicle was unveiled Wednesday morning at the Capitol aimed at providing the latest high tech training equipment to rural health care providers. The MU School of Medicine and Missouri Area Health Education Centers presented "Mobile Sim" a mobile clinical simulation service. On board the 30 foot vehicle are three lifelike computerized patient mannequins and virtual reality devices with the ability to simulate more than 110 medical scenarios. Mobile Sim is also equipped with cameras to record participants and data storage devices to capture information from the training session. Leaders of the project say Mobile Sim provides the opportunity for health care providers to practice high risk patient events in an environment that is controlled and safe.
