New Witnesses Emerge in '90 NW Mo. Murder Case
COLUMBIA (AP) - Two new witnesses have provided Livingston County investigators with possible incriminating evidence against an uncharged suspect in the 1990 shooting death of a Chillicothe farm wife.
One woman says she saw former Chillicothe High School wrestler Brandon Thomure in the early morning hours after Cathy Robertson's killing. A second woman recounted a conversation two weeks before the killing in which Robertson's oldest daughter said her then-boyfriend Thomure "wished that (her parents) were dead."
Both witnesses came forward after an appeals hearing earlier this month for Mark Woodworth, who was convicted of murder by two different juries four years apart.
Thomure was summoned to testify in the recent appeals hearing but invoked his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. He was led away from court in handcuffs on bad check charges.
