Nixon Calls for Passage of MOSIRA
MEXICO - Governor Jay Nixon visited the Missouri Plant Service Center here Friday to call for the passage the Missouri Science and Innovation Reinvestment Act.
MOSIRA is part of Nixon's "Made in Missouri Jobs Package." This package cleared the state senate Wednesday on a bipartisan vote.
Legislators, MU officials, and manufacturing companies pushing for MOSIRA were in attendance at the event.
Ryan Schmidt, executive director of the Missouri Plant Service Center said, "There is a lot of excitement here. Obviously the governor was excited because we are a little ahead of schedule on some cases and in some areas, so it is pretty energetic and energized here."
The center is a few weeks away from opening and supports said it will provide 40 to 50 new jobs in the next year.
