No. 15 Missouri softball routs Iowa 10-2
COLUMBIA - The No. 15 Missouri Tigers have won their seventh game in a row after defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes 10-2 in six innings. The Tigers have run ruled their opponents in the past five games and six out of the last seven.
The Tigers were led by junior Taylor Gadbois and freshman pitcher Paige Lowary.
Gadbois had a perfect night batting 4-for-4 including four stolen bases. She now has 30 stolen bases this season and 82 in her career as a Tiger. That puts her 4th all-time in Missouri softball history.
Lowary pitched five scoreless innings after coming in to relieve Tori Finucane. Lowary moves to 14-3 on the year. She included seven strikeouts and only allowed two hits.
The Tigers fell behind early after the Hawkeyes jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top half of the first inning. However, the Tigers fought back in the bottom half and added three runs. Two runs came from the bat of senior Corrin Genovese.
The Tigers (32-10) will travel to Missouri State for an instate battle with the Bears on Thursday at 5 p.m.
