No. 15 Ranked Cougars Sail Past Pirates, Improve to 18-4
COLUMBIA, MO - The 15th ranked Columbia College Cougars Women's team defeated the Park University Pirates on Saturday, 91-43.
The Cougars managed to catch fire early and never looked back. Columbia College led the Pirates 24-14 going into the second quarter.
The Pirates couldn't get anything going on offense scoring a measly seven points in the second quarter. Park's defense continued to be no match for the Cougar offense allowing them to go up 48-21 at halftime.
The Pirates defense stepped up in the third quarter allowing only twenty points while putting up eleven of their own. Columbia College led 68-32 going into the fourth.
The Cougars finished the game strong, putting up another twenty-three points in the fourth. The Pirates scored eleven but it wasn't enough to get them back in the game.
Clare Shetley led the game in scoring for the Cougars with 19 points. Raegan Wieser finished with a double double for the Cougars with 10 points and led the game in rebounds with 10. Kiana Smith led the Pirates in scoring with 12 points.
Columbia College looks to build into another win streak when they play the William Baptist College Eagles at 5:30 p.m. CT on Thursday February 6th in Columbia.
