IOWA CITY, Iowa - No. 2 Mizzou wrestling defeated No. 1 Iowa Sunday afternoon at the Carver Hawkeye Arena by a dual score of 18-12. This win clinched the perfect season for the Tigers, with a record of 24-0 in duals. It also earned them the 2015 National Duals Finals championship.

Tigers won six of 10 contests against the Hawkeyes, including four of the first five. Iowa notched a pair of wins after Mizzou took a 12-3 lead halfway through the dual, pushing to within three points.

Willie Miklus won at 184 pounds, a much-need victory for the Tigers. The redshirt freshman defeated Iowa's Alex Meyer by a score of 6-5.

Defending national champion J'den Cox clinched the crown for the Tigers defeating No. 6 Nathan Burak by a 4-3 decision at 197 pounds and keeping his record unblemished this season. Cox has now won an NCAA-leading 50 consecutive dual match wins, and improved to 30-0 on the season.

Cox is not the only Tiger wrestler who clinched a perfect regular season record Sunday, as redshirt senior Alan Waters defeated No. 5 Thomas Gilman at 125 pounds in a 5-4 (TB1) decision. Gilman is 27-0 this season, with 10 wins against ranked opponents.

After Waters' opening win at 125 pounds, which Zach Synon followed with a loss at 133, redshirt sophomore Lavion Mayes, redshirt senior Drake Houdashelt and sophomore Joey Lavallee all won their own matches to put the Tigers up early.

Each of Saturday's 10 matches resulted in decision wins, with Tigers notching the largest lead of the day, nine points, twice.

The undefeated Mizzou team next wrestles at the 2015 MAC Championships March 7-8. The Tigers will host the tournament this year at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo.
