No. 24 Tigers softball defeats Ole Miss
COLUMBIA, MO - The No.24 Missouri Tigers softball team defeated the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, 6-1.
The bats were hot early for the Tigers as they took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. The offense continued in the second as an RBI single from designated player Jazmyn Rollin brought third baseman Megan Moll home for the score. Tigers went up 2-0 at the end of the second inning.
After an uneventful third inning, the Tigers were back at it again. Two runs scored in the fourth inning, one coming by way of a Hatti Moore sac fly RBI and the other from a Kimberly Wert RBI double.
Ole Miss went to work in the fifth inning getting runners on base early. Tate Whitley scored for the Rebels off an RBI single. After a double play, the side was retired. Mizzou led 4-1 at the middle of the 5th.
Mizzou put the game away in the 6th inning after adding an additional two runs coming from Cayla Kessinger and Jazmyn Rollin.
The Tigers look to complete the sweep of Ole Miss on Sunday.
