No. 9 MVC Earns Weekly Men's Volleyball Honor
MARSHALL, MO -- The Missouri Valley College men's volleyball team dropped one spot in this week's NAIA Men's Volleyball Top 10 Poll. The Vikings are now the No. 9 ranked team. The Vikings finished 3-0 in matches last week, including a home win over Graceland University in five sets, and two wins at the Robert Morris Quad. The Vikings defeated Robert Morris College and Lourdes College, both matches in four sets.
The Vikings have two matches scheduled for later this week. They have a match Thursday at 6 p.m. at Lindenwood-Belleville, and a match Saturday at 2 p.m. against Lindenwood-Belleville at home.
Also, Freshman Libero Victor Magalhaes was named the NAIA Libero of the Week for his play in those three matches last week. Magalhaes averaged 3.5 digs per game and had three passing errors in 53 attempts for a 95-percent passing rate.
This is the first weekly award for Magalhaes and the second of the season for the men's volleyball team. Junior Setter Will McCracken was named the NAIA Setter of the Week earlier this month.
