COLUMBIA - The Boone County Fire Protection District responded to a small house fire off of N. Creasy Springs Road at 11:00 on Tuesday morning. No one was hurt in the fire.
Asst. Chief of Boone County Fire Protection District, Chuck Leake, said one man was in the home during the time of the fire. He was unable to put the fire out by himself, but he was able to call 911.
"Immediately upon arrival, we managed to keep the fire contained to only one bedroom and in the hallway," Leake said.
Medical officials took the man to the hospital for a check up.
Leake said investigators are still working on a cause of the fire.
