No Resolution in Ellisville Mayor Case
ELLISVILLE - A six-hour hearing still hasn't resolved the future of Ellisville Mayor Adam Paul.
The lengthy hearing on Monday was to consider impeachment of Paul, who has been at odds with the city council in the St. Louis County town. About 400 residents packed into a gymnasium at Ellisville Elementary School, but the meeting will reconvene at 7 p.m. Tuesday. That's when polls close on the municipal election that could change the makeup of the council and benefit the mayor.
Paul's attorney, Chet Pleban, spent much of the Monday meeting seeking to have the case dismissed.
Paul was elected after being an outspoken opponent of tax incentives for a Wal-Mart development. The council accused him of things such as leaking confidential information and giving illegal orders to city employees.
