No Tournament Jitters for Boonville HS Golfers
His Pirates have played consistently all season, earning an 18-1 record, so pressure is nothing new for them.
"It's not too much pressure," said Brice Quinlan. "I get a little nervous on the first tee, but after the first tee it's fine. It's just another tournament."
Boonville qualified for the state tournament the past two years, and the entire squad returned this year after finishing third last year.
The Pirates won their conference tournament by 13 strokes last week, with four golfers finishing in the top 10 including medalist Patrick Waibel.
If Boonville wins the district tournament Wednesday, the Pirates will compete in the state tournament at Springfield's Rivercut Golf Course on May 15-16.
