The company announced Tuesday that its Callaway plant went back online Saturday afternoon. The plant shut down September 17th for $300 million worth of renovation, improvements and refueling. Most of the work involved replacing four steam generators weighing about 400 tons each. Four new turbine rotors were also installed. Ameren-U-E says the new equipment will allow the Callaway plant to generate an additional 60 megawatts using the same amount of fuel.
