Odenwald Appointed to Appeals Court
ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis attorney Kurt Odenwald is named to the Missouri Court of Appeals. Governor Blunt announced Odenwald's appointment yesterday to the Eastern District appeals court. He will fill a vacancy created by the retirement this summer of Judge Gary Gaertner (GURT'-ner). Odenwald is a Republican who was a longtime member of the St. Louis County Council until he lost re-election last year. Blunt says he has broad-based experience from nearly three decades as an attorney. Odenwald was one of three nominees submitted to the governor last month by the Appellate Judicial Commission. The other candidates were St. Louis attorney Thomas Weaver and St. Louis Circuit Judge Gary Gaertner Jr., the son of the retiring judge.
