Okwuegbunam named to AP Preseason All-America First Team
COLUMBIA - After being named to the pre-season All-SEC team in 2018, Mizzou tight end Albert Okwuegbunam has upgraded to the AP Preseason All-America First Team for 2019. Missouri was in need of a good report on the Preseason awards front after being left out of the AP Preseason Top 25.
This is big news for the Tigers following a 2018 season that was cut short for Okwuegbunam due to a season ending shoulder injury in week 9 at Florida. Despite this, he still ended the season a finalist for the John Mackey Award, given to the top tight end in college football. With 43 receptions for 466 yards and 6 touchdowns for the 2018 season, he is expected to make a large impact in the Tigers' offense this upcoming season.
