One arrested in attempted robbery: two suspects at large
COLUMBIA - An attempted armed robbery in Columbia led to an arrest, with two suspects still at large.
According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, Jamon Deniro Roberts, 23, entered a home, pulled a gun and demanded money. The five people inside were able to push down and disarm Roberts, and restrained him until officers arrived.
Two other suspects remained outside the home and eventually ran off. A K-9 search was unsuccessful in locating them. "
No injuries or damage were reported as a result of the incident.
Roberts was arrested and charged with five counts of Felony First Degree Assault, Felony Robbery in the First Degree, Felony Armed Criminal Action, Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felony Unlawful for Certain Persons to Possess Concealable Firearm and Felony Burglary in the First Degree.
