One Dead and Three Injured in Fort Leonard Wood Accident
FORT LEONARD WOOD - Four Department of Army civilians were involved in an accident Wednesday afternoon while conducting railroad maintenance to Fort Leonard Wood's railroad spur.
Three DA civilians were injured and a fourth was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:09 PM by Phelps County Coroner Lenox Jones, according to a media release.
One of the injured civilians received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo.
The other two injured were airlifted to Mercy hospital in Springfield, Mo. Both are listed in stable condition.
The incident is under investigation by the Army's Criminal Investigation Command.
